Parties and Paradise

 

Grady turned 2 on February 13th. We had a little get together and ate cake and ice cream. Isla Paige and Lainey wore their matching OshKosh dresses  grandma bought them for Christmas. They were pretty cute.

 

Happy Valentine's Day!

This big girl is 5 months old already. She is so much happier now and very content. She takes great naps in the day, but still likes to eat most of the night. Just recently, I realized I can't leave her in the middle of the ottoman or she'll roll right off. Kris reminded me that Grady rolled off the bed a few times. We'll try not to repeat that with the second child!

Grandma and Grandpa had the kids for 5 days while we went to a wedding in Cabo for the long weekend. They claimed to not be exhausted, but I know they had to be! Grady went to work with Grandpa to see the big trucks, shopped at King Soopers, and even got a happy meal at McDonald's. (His first one ever... I guess we are lame parents!)

They look more and more alike....

While they were here in the snow, we enjoyed our first trip out of town alone since before kids. Kris was the best man in his buddy Drew's wedding. He stayed busy with the boys, and I laid by the pool and did absolutely nothing. I didn't even get through 30 pages of a book. I just tanned and slept and tanned and slept. Heaven. It was a wonderful trip, beautiful wedding, and a much needed break from reality! On the last day we were ready to come home, but I must confess, not a second before. Ha!

Grady Age 2

Almost 2!

 For some reason I thought I could get an almost 2 year old to make a heart shape with his hands while finger painting. Instead, he actually licked the paint, laid in the paint, and rubbed it on his belly.

 "I be yike daddy," while putting the pen behind his ear.

My little boy is days away from being 2. I can't believe it. Grady, I think multiple times a day... if only I could bottle you up and keep you just as sweet and innocent as you are these days. You are full of love for everyone. When I tuck you into bed at night and leave your room you say, "I yuv you." (I may say it back to you again and again just to hear your sweet little voice. I also may get tears in my eyes with how much I could love a little person). You are still very into your tools and carry them all over the place all day long. You got a tiny screwdriver at Christmas that goes with a mini skateboard. You have not misplaced that 1 inch device in 2 months and are very careful about where you place it when you are done. You have a memory like an elephant and recall events, places and colors of things very clearly. Your vocabulary grows every day. I am shocked by how many words and phrases you can say. You love spending time with grandma. On the days I don't work, I go into get you in the morning and you say, "Grandma's here, she's downstairs." I have to break the news you get to hang out with me, not grandma:) You love that she plays with you all day long and brings crafts over for you to make. You love Baby Lainey and are often concerned as to her whereabouts. If we are getting ready to leave you remind me to bring Baby Yanie. I can't wait to see your relationship with your sister grow. I like to pretend you are going to read this when you are a big boy and know how cute you were and how much I love you. We'll see how that goes. Ha! I love you Gradycakes, Mom.
