The last time we went to the zoo with 2 kids was last summer. I thought it would be so fun and we would have a great time. Laine would take her morning nap while the 3 of us strolled around and enjoyed the nice day. Expectations are where I always go wrong. 5 minutes in Laine was screaming and I carried her the entire time while Grady wriggled out of stroller and wanted to walk but just wandered and cried when we tried to corral him in the direction we needed to walk. As soon as I put Laine back in the stroller, she pooped all the way to her neck and we had no change of clothes.... need I go on?
So when our friend asked if we wanted to go to the zoo on a 60 degree day... I had flashbacks to our previous adventure, but decided it had to be better this time.
And it was.
It was great because apparently no one goes to the zoo in the dead of winter even when it is super nice out (or at least no one goes right when the gates open!)
Laine is obsessed with hippos so we found one to check out.
We even rode the train!
Look at that big girl on the carousel! She didn't cry once, nor did she poop up her back!!
Such a fun day! We might even brave it again this spring!
