Random Summertime Shots

Three cuties in a tub.

Ava and Grandma on an adventure to scout out a good spot for a family photos shoot.

12 months to 18 months=the most exhausting age of all. She doesn't even compare to her big brother at this age (when I was largely pregnant with Laine), but she is still in to exploring everything and obviously is always on the dishwasher.

Grady was a February baby and cousins and sister's bdays don't match up with Ava's March bday as far as hand me downs go. So she sports all of Grady's summer pjs. I love it. She looks just like him in them and I have to remind myself, she is indeed a girl.

Bagels before church.

A Kris photo as the real photographer too pics of the grandkids and Grandma and Grandpa.

Sunday night fun at Grandma and Grandpa's!

Grandma even packed a big picnic for us one night and we wheeled it over to the park to enjoy. So fun!!

I remember Ash and I always playing in boxes in the basement growing up. Grady and Laine had a big time in these boxes for a few days, but are still a little young to have the 'clubs' and designs that Ash and I had back in the 80s. ha!

One day during quiet time. This happened. Her bed is usually on another wall. Oh. My.

Popsicles with our BFFS. The middles were catching bugs somewhere else.

Mom and Dad even escaped to Vegas for a couple nights. Wohooo!

This playhouse was given to us for free. I really didn't think they'd play in it because Grady was never really in to playing in houses. Girls are different. They love being in there and Ava just opens and closes the door and says bye bye, hi, bye bye. On repeat. So cute!

Laine needed her ski goggles for the splash park one day.

Ooooohhhhh. Summer!!!!

4th of July and Blech...

We started the holiday weekend off with great seats at the Zac Brown concert, thanks to Crystal! It was so much fun!

At around 3:30 on the 4th we were set to go to a BBQ at a friend's house. Walking out the door Grady said his tummy hurt. Uh oh. I told him there would be pop at the BBQ so he perked up and seemed to be ok. He did cry on the way, but was happy the whole time we were there. We got home around 8:00 and he was fine, Grandma and Grandpa came over to sit on the driveway to watch fireworks across the way.
Grandpa and Grady killing time until fireworks.

Happy lil' Avers and Grandma.

Then, before fireworks ever happened, Grady fell asleep like this on the couch. Not normal for a boy who likes to be up late and was very looking forward to the fireworks. :(

Laine, on the other hand, was enjoying the festiviites on the driveway.

Poor Grady ended up being super sick for a long time. The week after the 4th we were at the doctor's office 3 days, they ran blood tests and couldn't really tell what was causing such terrible stomach pain.

Long story short, we ended up at Children's Hospital ER on Saturaday night a week later. The did an x-ray and figured out the issue. He just needed to poop! Gave us some meds, and he was better a few days later. Geez Louise. Long wasted week of summer, but all that matters is he is all better now.

I spy Spots and Stripes in the bed.

Zoo Day

A boy and his map. He still loves to look at and read maps. He carried it and led us around the zoo.

In front of his favorite animal, Spots the giraffe.

In her usual position.

This was a special trip to the zoo because they added a new exhibit where for the small fee of $5, you get 3 pieces of lettuce to feed the giraffes. The kids loved it, and convinced dad they each needed 3 pieces of lettuce. (actually they didn't need to convince him at all..... he knew 3 pieces each would be perfect) Good dad. I would've given them each a piece and torn the third in half. Lame mom.

A preview of a new Lego exhibit coming soon. He will love that too!
