Prayers

Laine's prayer tonight:

me: Laine, what is something you are thankful for today?
L: I am glad God made ladybugs and roly polys for me to look at and catch
me: Anything else?
L: I am thankful for Isla Paige because she is my sister. And Tummy Ted because he is my brother. And roly polys.
me: What can God help you work on tomorrow?
L: Not saying I'm going to punch you in the nose.
me: umhmmm
me: And using...
L: Kind words and kind hands and loving Jesus with all of my might.
me and L: amen
L: One more song. (after 3 previous songs)
me: Ok.

Just a Few Shots of Summer

We LOVE Summer because....

We can go to splash pads all around town on hot sunny days, 

 We can ride bikes around the block, 

We can climb on the tuk-tuk everytime we go to the zoo, 

We can wear our baseball t-shirt that Grandpa bought us and show off our muscles, 

Cherry dresses are totally in for the summer, 

We can pose for a cute pic on 4th of July.... (2 out of 3 smiling children isn't bad) 

Ava looks VERY worried. And she should be. 

We can pose by pretty flowers at the zoo, 

We can spend time with our best friends at the Louisville Street Faire, 

And give out numerous hugs/wrestling moves, 

We can eat popsicles with our cousins on our new swing set,



Or at a picnic table, 

Sheriff Callie is on TV all the time,

We can eat ice cream at 11:00 because our brother is with dad and we scored a free coupon to Coldstone,

We can spend 4th of July at the zoo with our friends,

Mom gets to look at this cute little face all day long, 

These two have time to snuggle in bed from 5:45 til 8:00 when their sleeping beauty sister decides to rise and shine,

We can go to parks every morning by 9:00 (and we do at least 3 days a week so mom stays sane)....

We not only eat ice cream in the morning but in the evening too, 

We have sports camp,

We can earn this dino if we actually go to sports camp all 6 weeks and do not freak out. Which we did.

On a side note: This new dino, a velociraptor, 'Blister', was in bed with us one morning and this is the conversation that went on at 5:45.

Grady: Mom, please get off the blanket, I need to cover Blister up. 

Me: OK

Grady: Oh, I'm just kidding, mom, velociraptors have feathers. He isn't cold. His feathers keep him warm. 

As the dino proceeds to roar and spew facts about his species loudly in my ear. At 5:45. I know I mentioned that already. 

 We can make chocolate chip cookies in our fleece princess pjs and Dora slippers on a cool July night, 

We can go to the zoo again and again because we have a pass, 

We can dress in cute polka dot swimsuits even if we will not be going in the water quite yet, 

We can hang out in our $23 Wal Mart pool that has given us hours of entertainment, 

As well as lay/hangout/jump on our trampoline 

The last reason we LOVE summer, is the 7:00 bedtime that happens more often than not because of no naps and lots of fun. Yay for summertime!!!
