Breckenridge!

We headed up to the mountains on Friday night. Our friends didn't join us until the next day so we just had dinner when we got there and watched the Royals on TV. Check out that big girl at the big table!

The next morning was chilly! We walked into town and grabbed a coffee (because that's what mom wanted to do). Then, we headed to a park by the river and played around (because that's what the kiddies wanted to do).

This girl loves slides.

Van wasn't into me trying to get him to say cheeeese:)

Ava walked her little strong willed self all over town. Her 2T coat bought on the the sale rack last year for $6.99 was a bit large, and a bit ridiculous, but she owned it and strutted her stuff down Main Street refusing to be held, told which direction to walk, or that she should hold a hand of an adult. She must be one and a half.
We kept on walking past the first park and found another one! Two parks in a morning. Best day ever. On the way to this park we had a small mishap with this guy. He, in similar fashion to the one and a half year old, likes to walk on his own terms. He climbed on rocks, balanced on ledges, got too close for mom to the river, and eventually flipped over a bar that he was hanging on and landed face first in gravel nearly knocking out a few teeth. Thank goodness it was just a lot of blood, but took a longggg time to recover to make it to the second park!

Oh, sweet Laine, Avers thought it was her turn, again! She climbed up and down the slide a gazillion times, she loves slides!
We headed back to the condo and relaxed for awhile, watched some football, did some coloring, took a rest and then headed out to another park right by the condo. It was a train park. Grady was dead set on sledding since we brought our sleds and saw it had snowed in Breckenridge the day before. There was a trace of snow, so he begged and begged to sled on a small hill at the park. See documentation below.

She sees a cell phone and says, "Cheeeeeeeese!!"

After the park, we headed to Breckenridge Brewery for an early dinner. Phil and Jen went to another brewery and then we met back up to watch the Buffs game at home.

Addict.

Sunday morning looked a lot like Saturday morning. Walk to get coffee and park. (Really, what else is there to do with three kids under 5 in a mountain town than hang out at parks!!) But Ava was in rare form, so we left early and had a longggggg walk/carry/wrestle back to the condo. Let's just say it was pretty cold, but I took my coat off because I was sweating. (I blame her).
I threw her in bed, she didn't utter a peep,  and I enjoyed an hour all alone while everyone played at the elementary school park. Park #4 if you're keeping track. That hour alone was totally worth all the sweat.

Why, yes, that is a huge chunk of snow he carried for way longer than I thought he would.

These two may be the sweetest kids in town. The held hands on most walks all weekend. Played trains, raced in the hallway, and did some coloring together like little angels.

We headed back to the bear park Sunday afternoon before we all went to get Mexican food for dinner. After that, we got ice cream and ended a pretty great afternoon! Kris got these great pics of the kids with mountains in the background.

Notice the scratches from the face plant the day before....

Oh, wait, Ava on a slide? No way. Cheeeeese.

Such a fun weekend with great friends!

October Weekend Fun

After the family Buffs game, we did an adult trip, much more relaxing than the last trip.

Fun on the hill before the game!

We went to the new 7 Generations Pumpkin Patch in Louisville on a Friday afternoon with our buddies.

Oh, Grady....

The next day, we headed to Hazel's 4th bday at Build a Bear. Laine's first time there. It was love at first sight. She picked a pink bear and an Elsa costume. She named her Lainey.

That night, we had 6 kiddos at our house for a big sleepover! They played outside, played some Wii, did a lot of trampoline jumping, pushed around grocery carts and strollers, ate some Chic fil a and popcorn, watched some shows and headed to bed. It was Kris's birthday and he needed them all asleep by 8 to watch the game. That, of course, didn't happen, but it wasn't long after.  When they were asleep he kept yelling at the TV... risking waking them all up to re-do bedtime. Thank goodness that didn't happen. I may have freaked out. The big boys slept in the basement (well, only Hank lasted down there), the middles were in our room on the floor in a nest,  Charlie was in our closet in a pack n play and Avers was in her bed. The littles slept from 7 to 7. They win.
Oh Boom Boom. Are you really not even 2?

Watching a show in the morning.

Sweet kiddies  eating donuts and muffins in the morning:)

Buffs Weekend. And Some Drama.

The Buff filled weekend started on Friday night. The girls and I met the boys after school at Lulus and had some BBQ before heading to Pearl Street for the parade.

The rocks that we used to play on as kids are still there, these 3 had a great time sliding down and climbing up.

But the best part of the whole night was CHIP!!! Laine wanted to go back after meeting him and give him a kiss.

The next morning at 10:30 we were parked up on the hill and ready to walk through campus for the 11:30 kick off. Avers shoved herself right in that Baby Bjorn made for infants.

Beautiful fall day on the CU campus.

Dad loves selfies.

The Kids Zone had all kinds of cool stuff. As you can see, a HUGE Ralphie, a jumpy castle and free t-shirts and bracelets.

Run Ralphie Run!!

This pic was taken after the scariest thing that has ever happened to me and a mom happened. We were walking through the field house with hot dogs and pretzels, I had Ava and the two big kids were following us. We turned around, and there was Grady, but Laine was gone. She was nowhere to be found. It was the longest 10 minutes of my life. I really have no idea how long she was gone, but it felt like hours. I ran around like a crazy person screaming her name. She had on pink. It should've been easy to spot her, but she was gone. We left Grady with a random mom and both searched all around yelling for her. Everyone was helping and asking what she looked like. We got security and the police came and took a description. After what felt like a lifetime, Kris found her with a security guard. She had found a mom and the mom took her to him. He was holding her and she was not crying or too concerned. After we found her, I cried. She still did not. A few moms came up to me and told me they had lost their kids too.... One even offered to buy me a glass of wine and told me she lost her daughter at Disneyland. I'm sure there are more lost children in my future, but I am considering getting the middle child a leash.

After all the drama, we went to sit in the shade of the scoreboard. We met up with Em and Darren and they bought the kiddies ice cream. All was right in world again. Then, we bribed them with pinky pops from Starbucks if they could walk all the way back through campus and to the hill. They did it. They will do anything for sugar. Praise the Lord.

Oh, and most importantly. We were on TV. That's what happens when you are the ultimate Buffs fans that lose one of your kids at the game, I guess.  Eeek.
