Grady at age 6:
- You love to play catch. Right now it is football. After bath every night either mom or dad sit on the bed and you run across the end of the bed and catch a pass, then run back to the other side of the room. Again and again. Like for an hour. Like hundreds of catches and throws. You tell us what type of throw you'd like bullet, rainbow, over your head, short, option.... and so on. You are quite demanding the pass is up to your standard. Which usually leads you to your annoyance:) This also happens downstairs. You like for mom on one couch to throw to dad on the other couch and you try to intercept it. Also, again and again. You pretty much never stop moving. With Grandpa, you tell him either an Elway, Manning or Osweiler pass and he throws it accordingly.

-You are still our early bird. We put a clock in your room this year and say you need to stay in until 6:15. Now that you are older you finally get it and stay in there, but you are always up before then. We tried to trick you and push the time on your clock back to buy ourselves a few extra minutes of sleep. The first night when it was time for bed, you realized it was not the correct time and called us out on trying to trick you. You kind of get a lot of things.... that you probably shouldn't get at this age. Ha.
-You like to build Legos. You love the putting together part. You haven't ever taken any apart, and I'm pretty sure you never will. Your head about exploded the other day when I suggested that idea. You don't ever play with them once they are built, you just like the act of building them.
- You still love to draw. You spend most of your time at the art table with a blank piece of paper and a marker. You have a little notebook you got at school and you draw while we drive in the car too. The other day on the way to church you were drawing the Panthers coach crying because he lost the Superbowl and Von Miller sacking Cam Newton. (Both drawings on the morning of the Superbowl before we knew if the Broncos would win!)

-Speaking of the Superbowl. It has been about a week since the Broncos won, and every morning when you come in to our room, you want to watch the replay. You are pretty into it.
-You love numbers and math. You have great number sense (your teacher mom knows that will serve you well in years to come). You love to add and subtract. You are curious about time and elapsed time. You know our van clock in 5 minutes ahead, so you like to tell me what time it really is by subtracting 5 all the time. While I was telling you about the day you were born and how you came around 5 in the morning, you said. "Oh, about an hour and 15 minutes before I'm allowed to get out of my room in the morning." Yes, pretty much.
- You are a picky eater still. You like pb&j, salami, apples, trail mix, rotisserie chicken, summer sausage, Grandma's meatloaf and meatballs... sometimes you eat dad's spaghetti. You're pretty lean. Not much fat on your skinny little body. Probably due to two things... as previously stated- you never stop moving. And you don't eat much.
-You are competitive in everything. You are in swim lessons now with 3 other kids, 2 of which are a couple years older than you. When it comes time to swim across the pool. There is no chance of you losing. It is a race in your mind. You are also playing basketball right now. It is quite funny and no one is keeping score. Except you. Last week you were pretty sure it was 16 to 5. Which really was probably close to true. This week you thought it was 11-3. Also, pretty accurate.
-On the morning of your 6th birthday, you told us you woke up around 5 and thought I was born and alive 6 years ago at this time.
-You are a sweet, loving little boy who still needs a mommy or a daddy to snuggle with you to fall asleep. You are growing up so fast. Too fast:)
It is pretty clear at age 6, you are a real Broncos fan. And you really love your dad's vintage Broncos t-shirt from the 80s.
