On the morning on her real birthday, Lainey got a donut to celebrate. She actually got a half of a donut because in the 15 minutes between me setting up the breakfast table and blow drying my hair, Ollie helped himself to the other donut. Probably better to send them to babysitter and school with only half full of sugar....
Since the morning is a whirlwind, we waited til the evening to open her present. She got a baby doll. She sings her rock-a-bye baby, twinkle twinkle, and talks to her like she is a real human. Adorable.
That night Grandma and Grandpa came over and brought some hairbows and some magnetic letters. Lainey was so proud it was her birthday, she kept walking around singing "Happy birfday to MEEE!"
And she'd tell anyone who would listen that it was her birthday. She was very in to her special day.
(that continued for a week since we kept celebrating) She may think her birthday is 7 days long.
We went to Oklahoma (pics coming soon) for a wedding over her bday weekend, so the week after, my family came over to celebrate with banana splits and donut holes. That's what you get when you've been out of town for a weekend and get home Sunday night at 8 and work Monday and go to the store Tuesday at 4 and everyone comes over at 5:30. Not winning any medals for mom of the year in party planning or party foods.
She didn't seem to mind the lack of a real cake....
Grandma made the crown. She made them for us and now for the grand kids. So cute.
As I've mentioned before, Laine's obsessed with Swiper. She got a beanie baby Swiper from Grandma and Grandpa for her birthday. She LOVES him.
I like this picture of Grandma and Laine's smiles.
True Love.
The party guests.... Grady, Isla, and Tatum!
Thanks Auntie Ash for taking all the pics.... you didn't make it into any pics though!
Happy birthday sweet Lainey bug!
