Weekend in Breckenridge

We headed up to Breckenridge the second week in December with our friends Phil and Jen and Hol and Rick (and the kiddos). Grady was so excited to go to the MOUNTAINS, he had a calendar to count down the days. He truly thought we were going to drive straight up the mountain and possibly camp on the edge of a cliff. I know this because of the following questions he asked before departing. 1. "Mom, are we taking papa's tent, or is baby Van (who we went with) going to bring his?"

2. "Mom, if we go sledding, will you make sure I don't fall of the mountain?"

Funny what he was picturing the mountains to be. We apparently need to get out more. Although he has been to Aspen before. And Vail. Maybe I just need to show him more pictures of his adventures as a smaller human. 

Honestly, the first time EVER these two fell asleep at the same time. Ever, people. They are almost 5 and 3. And have never slept in the car. At the same time. Really, they've never slept in the car. Oh, you must think it was so peaceful and quiet and Kris and I listened to holiday music and chatted. Well, there is one more little DeCola, and she cried for the entire last hour of the trip. She quieted down for a sec at Frisco and Kris told her not to give up, she'd cried for so long, "Don't be a quitter Ava," I believe were his exact words.

 Kris captured all of us asleep... if you look closely, you'll see Ava hiding over my shoulder. Let's just say, everyone slept well except me since the second she made a peep I fed her to keep from having all three kiddies up at 2:04 A.M. 

The next morning, the boys walked to get us some coffee with Hank and Grady and then they headed off to do some sledding. Laine and AK were cutie pies in pink.

When the dads and kids returned we walked over to Breckenridge Brewery for some lunch. The kids were great and even ate their food. It was a big debate to keep walking around town or head back to chill out for a bit. 

We decided to head back and relax before heading out to see the Santa Run and to play some more in town.

After the Santa Run, we headed to a brewery for a bit and then headed back to have some pizza at the condo. The kiddies were out by 7 and we played Apples to Apples and hung out til like 10:30. Craaaazyyy. Fun time!
