DeCola Daily Dish: A Week in the Mountains

We headed up to Breckenridge on Monday morning and stopped in Dillon on the way at the Nike outlet. We ate lunch and then headed on up to the condo.

We couldn't get in right away so we went to play at a park and do a little hiking right around the corner from where we were staying.

Big.

Middle.

Little.

Then our friends showed up!

We walked to pizza for dinner and snapped this cute shot on the way back up the road.

Ava and Charlie missed the silly photo memo. They are a bit concerned.

The next day we headed up to the adventure park. Ava wasn't so sure about her first ride on the gondola.

Then, they rode this tube ride 20 times!!

She was nervous and she wanted to pray the night before that God would protect her and that she wouldn't fall off the zip line:) Good news, she didn't fall, and she loved it.

She didn't get to do a darn thing, she just putzed around and played in the dirt. Didn't complain at all. Sweet girl. Good thing for her monkey milk.

It started to rain, so we headed back down the gondola a few hours later! Such a fun morning!

After a long day, they relaxed with some cheerios and Disney Jr. on the ipad.

The next day we headed to Vail in the morning. We found a river and played there for a long time.

We moved on and found a cool playground and some fountains. I packed swimsuits but forgot Lainey's bottoms... so she played in underwear!

While the girls played, he climbed.

Headed to lunch at Garfinkels!

We caught the shuttle and headed from Lionshead to Vail Village.

We played at another spot in the river.

And found some more fountains.

Which happened to be right by a candy shop. With lollipops.

Lainey was being a penguin. Ava was being Ava.

Successful day in Vail.

We started the next day at Daylight Donuts. There's usually a line out the door, but we beat the rush since we are early birds.

Later that day we ate at Eric's. The kids love the arcade games. Laine just can't understand why the claw game never retrieves her the cute little stuffed animal she needs to rescue. She usually ends up in tears when I tell her she has spent all her money and MUST stop trying to rescue an animal:(

Clearly, we like to eat. This is at Breckenridge Brewery on another day.

We went to Keystone one morning. It was nice and quiet, much less busy than Breck.

We found a cool playground.

And an awesome river to explore.

The kids played mini golf with dad and then we headed back to the condo.

My friend Annie from College was up there too, so we met and looked in some little boutiques that afternoon. It was so fun to catch up! Then I met these guys for dinner.

We met at Empire Burger and Ava brought the golf ball from Keystone earlier in the day. She also brought her shades. Of course.

Kris' most genius plan was to feed them before they came to meet me for dinner since the hot dogs they order cost 6 dollars and they don't eat them. And then we ordered them shakes that kept them happy, silent, and full while we enjoyed our burgers. Like I said, genius.

The next day we just hung around Breckenridge for the day and played on the playground in town.

That afternoon Kris took Grady over to the elementary school that we go for sledding in the winter to hit baseballs. Look closely and you can see him. Pretty scenic view for batting practice.

Then Grandma and Grandpa came up for the weekend. Yay!!
