Snow Day

This day started with a 5:15 text from Boulder Valley Schools that Kris was off because of snow. He promptly woke me up and I checked my texts and missed calls. Nothing. Checked the Jeffco website. Nothing. I was about to freak out at 5:16 in the morning that everyone was going to be off but me. Thank the Lord, Jeffco popped up as closed on 9 News minutes later. 

This resulted in the longest snow day known to man. 

We watched Home Alone. 

Baked cookies.

Decorated gingerbread houses. 

All before 9:00 am. 

 Then, later in the day we headed out to the backyard for some snow playing. 

Sissies. 

Ava never moved independently. I carried and plopped her in spots throughout the backyard. 

They piled a huge hill of snow and tried to make a snow tunnel, but the snow was so fluffy it just never happened. The said snow pile is currently in our yard a week later. 

The little Eskimo loves her playhouse/igloo.

What a perfect day for a snow day- (the Tuesday before Winter break). Kids in my class were already cra-aaa-zy. And so were my own kids. Really, it was a wash. Let's be honest.
